Thank you for this reminder of how important it is that we set an example for our children. Children model their parents, and in the U.S. we are setting a poor example. Currently 78.2 percent of men aged 40 to 59 are overweight or obese. What can we expect from our children. It saddens me deeply to read the prediction in the New England Journal of Medicine, that due to obesity, those of us in the U.S. are now expected to OUTLIVE our children. It is thought that their life expectancy will be shorter than ours due to obesity. Time to shape up!
